Bengals Continue Preseason at Lobos Classic

Idaho State plays their first game on Friday at 10:30 a.m.

BENGAL OVERVIEW
Idaho State volleyball continues preseason play at the Sheraton Airport Lobo Classic hosted by the University of New Mexico on Friday and Saturday, Sept. 6-7. The Bengals face Georgia Tech on Friday at 10:30 a.m., New Mexico on Friday at 7:30 p.m. and UC Riverside on Saturday at 10 a.m.

LOBOS CLASSIC OPPONENTS
The Bengals are 3-6 all-time against New Mexico, the Bengals lost their last meeting 3-0 on August 30, 2008. The Bengals are 1-0 against UC Riverside. They won their only meeting against UC Riverside 3-2 on Sept. 8, 2007. This weekend marks the first time the Bengals meet the Hornets of Georgia Tech.

UC Riverside is 0-3 for the 2013 season having dropped all three games at the Wildcat Invitational hosted by Weber State. New Mexico is 2-1 after beating UMKC and Northwestern State and dropping Arkansas at the University of Arkansas Tournament. Georgia Tech beat Florida A&M and Chattanooga but fell to College of Charleston at the Georgia Tech tournament last weekend.

AT THE TIGER INVITATIONAL
The Bengals went 2-2 at the Tiger Invitational hosted by the University of Missouri. Idaho State opened the tournament with a 3-1 loss to South Dakota State followed by a 3-0 win over Arkansas. The Bengals fell to Missouri 3-0 before ending the tournament with a 3-0 win against Pittsburgh.

KYLEE SEARLE-SESSIONS
Redshirt junior Kylee Searle-Sessions was named to the Tiger Invitational All-Tournament team last weekend. Searle-Sessions had 47 digs over four games including 17 against Pittsburgh. She also had 12 assists and seven service aces.

BENGAL LEADERS
Tressa Lyman leads the Bengals in kills this season with 58. She had a double-double against South Dakota State with 12 digs and 14 kills. Alydia Fields-Grimm also had a double-double against South Dakota State with 14 kills and 12 digs. Fields-Grimm ranks second for kills this season with 42. She also ranks second in digs with 27.

Lori Mendenhall-Lee leads the Bengals in assists with 141 on the season. She had 46 assists in the Bengals loss to South Dakota State.

BENGALS IN THE PRESEASON POLL
The Bengals were picked to finish second in the Big Sky Preseason Coaches' Poll on Aug. 13. They had 83 points and two first-place votes. The Bengals finished second during the regular season and at the Big Sky Tournament. Portland State topped the poll with 95 points and seven first-place votes. Portland State won the Big Sky regular season championship. Tournament champions Northern Colorado placed third in the poll with 75 points.
