Bengals Take UC Riverside in Three in Final Game of Lobos Classic

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - The Idaho State volleyball team took down UC Riverside in three games (25-16, 25-19, 25-17) in their final match at the Sheraton Airport Lobos Classic hosted by the University of New Mexico.

Junior transfer Desiree Nielsen led the Bengals in kills with 10 kills on 19 attempts. She had a .526 attack percentage for the match.

Junior Alydia Fields-Grimm led on defense with 10 digs and also had two service aces. Senior Lori Mendenhall-Lee narrowly missed a double-double with 33 assists and nine digs.

As a team, the Bengals posted a .291 attack percentage compared with UC Riverside's .146. Idaho State outblocked UC Riverside 17-2.

The Bengals play their first home match of the season on Tuesday, Sept. 10 at 7 p.m. in Reed Gym vs. Montana Western.
