Box Score
OGDEN, Utah- The Idaho State men's basketball team made a late rally to cut the Weber State lead to two points at 59-57 with 46 seconds left in the game but the Wildcats withstood the late run to earn the 65-59 victory on Monday night at the Dee Events Center in front of a crowd of 6,107 fans. ISU is now 3-3 in Big Sky Conference play and Weber State is 5-1.

With 6:26 left in the game ISU trailed 53-41. The Bengals then went on a 16-6 run to cut the Wildcat lead to 59-57 after two 3-pointers from Chris Hansen.

Weber State then went to the free throw line with 37 seconds remaining and missed the first free throw but the Bengals were unable to get the rebound allowing the Wildcats to seal the victory.

"Our guys made a great effort and it was a great college basketball game," Idaho State coach Bill Evans said. "We were determined, not that we weren't determined the whole game. We got a couple of turnovers and made a couple of 3's."

Hansen had 27 points on 9-of-16 shooting and he was 5-for-10 from the 3-point line in 37 minutes of action.

"He shot the ball really well," Evans said. "I am really proud of Chris. He is a tough guy, plays the game the right way and has tremendous integrity.

He hit a couple of hard shots but he hit some shots that he makes too."

Tomas Sanchez had 12 points and four assists and Jeffrey Solarin had eight points and nine rebounds.

ISU shot 40.4 percent for the game and 50 percent in the second half. Weber State shot 40.8 percent and was forced into 15 turnovers but made 12 3-pointers on 25 attempts. ISU only turned the ball over eight times.

Davion Berry led Weber State with 23 points. Joel Bolomboy had 16 rebounds for the Wildcats.

The Bengals were out rebounded 38-27.

"We just didn't rebound the ball," Evans said. "There were five occasions as the shot clock wound down where they made baskets. That really hurt us. We are going to work on that. We need to do a better job on that."

Idaho State returns to the court to host Montana on Thursday, January 23 at Reed Gym. The Bengals then play host to Montana State on Saturday, January 25. That game is also in Reed Gym and both games begin at 7 p.m.
