POCATELLO, Idaho- The Idaho State men's basketball team returns to the road for Big Sky Conference games at Sacramento State on January 30, at 8 p.m. (MST) and at Northern Arizona on February 1. Tip time for the NAU game is at 3 p.m. and it will be broadcasted on Fox College Sports, Fox Sports Arizona and Fox College Sports Central.  For live stats, audio and video fans can log onto iusbengals.com.

Idaho State leads the series with Sacramento State, 26-15. The teams have split the season-series the last three years. Last year ISU beat Sacramento State 60-59 in Pocatello and lost 53-52 in Sacramento.  Three of the last four meetings have been decided by one point and five of the last six meetings have been decided by five points or less.

Sacramento State is 6-11 and 2-6 in Big Sky Conference play. The Hornets are scoring 65.3 points a game and allowing 68.2 points. Mikh Mckinney is scoring 13.6 points and Dylan Garrity is netting 13 points a game. Sacramento State is shooting .442 percent from the field and averaging 30.8 rebounds a game.

Series vs. Northern Arizona
Idaho State leads the series 50-42. NAU won the series last year, winning 60-55 in Pocatello and 67-58 in Flagstaff. ISU has won seven of the last 12 meetings. ISU's last win in Flagstaff was a 79-73 victory on Feb. 11, 2012. In the last seven meetings only one game has been decided by 10 points or more and that was a 78-62 Bengal win on January 21, 2012.

Scouting Northern Arizona
Northern Arizona is 8-11 and 5-3 in Big Sky Conference play.  NAU is scoring 68.3 points and averaging 73.1 in Big Sky Conference action. The NAU defense is allowing 69.2 points overall and 65.8 in conference. Quinton Upshur leads the scoring attack at 15.5 points a game and 17.5 in league. Max Jacobsen is averaging 13.8 points. As a team, the Lumberjacks are shooting 45.9 percent from the field and averaging 33.4 rebounds.

Playing it Close
Eight of the Bengals 10 losses are by eight points or less. The Bengals lost by eight points at Utah, seven at Northern Colorado, six at Weber State, four at North Dakota and vs. Idaho, two at Bakersfield and four at home vs. Bakersfield and five vs. Montana.  ISU's only double digit losses are at Arizona State (88-60) and Washington (85-66).

Solarin on the Boards
In the seven Bengal wins Jeff Solarin has had four games of 10 rebounds or more and three games with seven rebounds. He had a career-high 13 vs. Southern Utah, 11 vs. Eastern Washington and 10 vs. Evergreen and Carroll College. His seven rebounds came against Portland State, USF and Montana State. His three double-doubles this season have come in wins over Evergreen (23 points and 10 rebounds), Carroll (16 points and 10 rebounds) and Eastern Washington (14 points and 11 rebounds). He has six rebounds or more in the 14 of 15 games he has appeared in.
