Gem State Battle Next for Bengals

POCATELLO, Idaho-
Idaho State plays just one match this week against in-state opponent Idaho. The Bengals enter the match with a 3-3 record in Big Sky play after defeating Sacramento State in overtime on Sunday.

TEAM NOTES
The Bengals are the highest scoring team in the Big Sky with 24 goals. Eighteen of the 24 goals have come after halftime.  Ten of those have come in the 71st minute or later.

The 1.85 goals/game is the second highest average in school history (2.16, 2000) and ranks 79th in the nation.

They are also lead the conference in shots with 16.00/game.

ISU is undefeated (3-0) in overtime games this season.

PLAYER NOTES
Amanda Ellsworth
The senior leads the Big Sky Conference in both goals (11) and points (24). The 11 goals ties a school record goals in a season.

She has 34 career goals which ranks 3rd in conference history. Montana's Heather Olson sits in first place with 36. Her 77 points ranks fourth in Big Sky history. NAU's Holly Jones is first with 81.

Her hat trick against Hawaii marks just the second player in school history to tally three goals in a game. She is 12 in the nation in goals scored and 15th in goals per game (.846). She has scored a goal in seven of the 13 matches this season. She has registered a point in eight of the 13.

The Bengals are 5-2 this season when she scores a goal.

The freshman leads the Big Sky in assists (5) and assists per game (0.38), second in shots (43) and shots per game (3.31) while ranking 3rd in points (17) and goals (6).

ABOUT IDAHO
The University of Idaho enters the week with a 4-1-1 record after splitting their last two matches. The Vandals are 4-1-1 record in conference play after defeating Eastern Washington 1-0.

Idaho leads the overall series 6-4-3. The Bengals have won the last two matches including a 2-0 victory last season in Pocatello.  ISU has never won in Moscow (0-3-2)

Idaho is 10th in the conference in goals per game (0.73) and 8th in  goals allowed

They will host Weber State before the Bengals visit Guy Wicks Field on Sunday.
