By Matt Gittins, ISU Sports InformationMOSCOW, Idaho – Amanda Ellsworth broke the school record for goals in a season as Idaho State tied the University of Idaho 2-2 Sunday afternoon in Moscow.
Ellsworth's goal in the 51st minute is her 12th of the season, breaking the old ISU mark held by Stacey Peterson (2002). The senior now has 35 career goals; one shy of the Big Sky record.
Mikaela Carrillo scored her first goal of the season in the first half.Â
Whitney Peterson collected the assist on both goals for Idaho State.
ISU led the match 2-0 before the Vandals scored twice in the final 15 minutes of regulation to force the extra session.
"We had a very distinct game plan in place and we stuck to it for 75 minutes," Head Coach
Allison Gibson said. "We let them in the back door and it cost us dearly."
The result marks the first tie of the season for the Bengals. ISU (6-7-1, 10 points) is tied for seventh place in the Big Sky but are just four point behind second place with three matches remaining on the season.  The top six teams make the conference tournament.
"We need to keep executing our game plan from the first whistle to the last," Gibson said. "We have to be willing to do whatever it takes to get it done."
Idaho State will host Southern Utah Friday afternoon at Davis Field before welcoming Northern Arizona to Pocatello Sunday for Senior Day.
