POCATELLO, Idaho- Idaho State University had three players in double figures as the Bengals defeated Northwest Nazarene 69-57 Saturday evening at Holt Arena.
Jeff Solarin posted a double-double with a season and game-high 20 points and 14 rebounds. The senior forward went 10-for-12 from the field, including connecting on his first seven shots.
"I'm putting myself in the right positions," Solarin said about his performance. "If I put myself in those positions they're not going to be able to box me out."
The Bengals lead by as many as 15 points and never trailed in the game. ISU shot 54 percent from the field in the game.
Chris Hansen added 17 points and seven assists.
Nnamdi Ezenwa tacked on 13 points and five rebounds.
The Crusaders closed within four in the second half but the Bengals would hold on to the victory.
The Bengals will travel to Logan, Utah to play three games in three nights at the Utah State Tournament. ISU will face South Dakota State Thursday, the host Aggies on Friday, and close out with Bakersfield Saturday.
