SUU leads the series 13-8 and six of the last eight meetings have been decided by four points or less. The only two games during the eight game stretch that was decided by double-digits was the 60-45 win earlier this season in Pocatello and a 68-51 loss at SUU in the 2001-02 season. ISU beat SUU 54-53 last year in Cedar City and lost 81-79 in overtime in Pocatello

Southern Utah is 1-21 and 0-13 in Big Sky Conference play. The T-Birds host league-leader Weber State on Thursday, February 13, before playing host to ISU on Saturday. Trey Kennedy leads SUU in scoring at 9.9 points a game and the T-Birds are averaging 56.3 points a game and giving up 73.5 points. Six of the last seven conference games for SUU have been decided by eight points or less.

When Opponents Shoot Over 50%
Last week's win over Northern Colorado was the first time this season the Bengals have won a game when the opponents have shot 50 percent or greater. ISU is now 1-6 this year when teams shoot 50 percent or better from the field. The Bengals were 1-6 last season when opponents above 50 percent. That win was the season-ending 72-71 win over Portland State. The Vikings shot 50.9 percent.

Crashing the Glass
Jeff Solarin's 20 rebound performance against North Dakota tied for the 12th best outting in ISU history. The 20 rebounds was the most by a Bengal since Steve Hayes had 22 rebounds on Feb. 1, 1975. Solarin is averaging 8.2 rebounds on the season and he now has five games with 10 rebounds or more. He has had games of 13 (SUU), 11 ( Eastern Washington) and 10 (Carroll College and Evergreen). The school record for most rebounds in a game is 30 by Ed Wilson vs. Texas Pan American in 1967. The 20 rebound is the most by a Big Sky Conference player this year.

Playing it Close
11 of the Bengals 13 losses are by eight points or less. The Bengals lost by eight points at Utah, seven at Northern Colorado, six at Weber State,  six at Sacramento State, four at North Dakota and vs. Idaho, two at Bakersfield and four at home vs. Bakersfield, two at NAU, five vs. North Dakota and five vs. Montana.  ISU's only double digit losses are at Arizona State (88-60), and Washington (85-66).

Sanchez Clutch Down the Stretch
Since arriving in Pocatello, Tomas Sanchez has shown a knack for making big shots down the stretch. The Bengal guard has hit three game-winners in the final seconds since the start of the 2012-13 season. Last year he scored with seven-seconds remaining to beat Portland State 72-71. In last year's 60-59 win over Sacramento State he scored four points in the final 11 seconds to rally the Bengals to a 60-59 win. In the win over Northern Colorado, on February 6, he hit a 3-pointer with 14 seconds remaining to lift ISU to the victory.
