TEMPE, Ariz. – Idaho State topped Seton Hall 14-5 and fell to No. 4 Arizona State 11-1 on day two of the Diamond Devil Invitational in Tempe, Ariz.
Vicky Galasso tallied three RBIs including a walk-off, two-run, home run to pace the Bengal offense. Hailey Douglas allowed nine earned runs in eight innings in the circle for ISU and earned the win over Seton Hall.
Idaho State 14, Seton Hall 5
Kacie Burnett tripled to center field on the first at-bat of the game to set the tone for Idaho State. She later scored on a passed ball. 
Katelyn Marquez was walked and eventually scored on an error by the Seton Hall shortstop to give the Bengals a 2-0 lead after the first inning.
The Bengals gave up three runs in the top of the third inning before answering with two runs in the bottom half of the inning. The scoring started when 
Sarah Hayes, who was pinch running for 
Terah Blackwell, scored on a wild pitch.  Galasso scored on a sacrifice fly by 
Hailey Breakwell.
With a 4-3 lead in the bottom of the fourth inning, the Bengals exploded for seven runs to give ISU an 11-3 advantage. 
The Pirates scored two runs in the top of the fifth to avoid the eight-run rule for another half inning.
In the bottom of the fifth, Burnett scored a on a wild pitch with two outs. 
Maddy Hickman was walked on the ensuing at-bat which gave Galasso the opportunity to end the game. She didn't disappoint. On a full count she sent the ball over the left-field wall for her fourth home-run of the season.
The win moved Douglas to 3-1 on the season as she went the distance, allowing six hits and three strikeouts.
"I felt like we played to our capabilities against Seton Hall," Head Coach 
Julie Wright said. "Douglas did a nice job of not letting defensive miscues affect her."
Wright was also excited to see great production from the Bengals offense.
"It was great to see Vicky hit the bat well," Wright said. "I was also excited about the play of our slappers."
No. 4 Arizona State 11, Idaho State 1
Undefeated Arizona State found an offensive rhythm in the middle innings, Saturday night, and Mackenzie Popescue pitched a four-hitter in the 11-1 Sun Devil victory over ISU.
Arizona State scored two runs on a two-out rally in the bottom of the first before scoring five runs in the third and four in the fourth to break the game open.
The Bengals squandered chances when they left the bases loaded in the second inning and two on base in the third.
The Bengals got on the scoreboard in the top of the fifth when Burnett scored on a double to left-center by 
Terah Blackwell. Breakwell flied out  two batters later to end the game on the run rule.
"ASU is a good team and they can swing it," Wright said. "We had the opportunity to put more runs on the board but couldn't quite get the job done. I expect better effort tomorrow."
Douglas pitched three innings and allowed seven earned runs and is now 3-2 on the season. 
The Bengals are 6-4 while Arizona State moved to 15-0. The Bengals face the Sun Devils again, tomorrow afternoon. The game is scheduled to begin at 1:30 p.m. but could potentially be delayed by the earlier games.
