POCATELLO, Idaho-Â The Idaho State softball team beat Lafayette 10-0 in five innings and lost 1-0 to Boise State on Sunday in the final day of the Spring Hill Suites Invitational at Dona Larsen Park in Boise. The Bengals are 15-10 as they begin Big Sky Conference play this weekend at Portland State.
The Bengal offense had 13 hits on the day with
Maddy Hickman,
Dara Kolar,
Micheala Taylor and
Vicky Galasso leading the way with two each.
In the circle,
Haley Douglas earned the win by pitching a one-hitter, striking out two and walking one Lafayette batter.
Bailey Foster took the loss against Boise State. In a complete game effort, she allowed only three hits and two walks while striking out two.

Bailey Foster was terrific. It was a shame we didn't get her the win. "

Idaho State scored all 10 runs in the first three innings. Galasso was two-for-three and she hit her 10th home run of the season to go along with two RBIs. Kolar was two-for-two with two RBI and Wiley had a double and four RBIs.
Douglas earned the win by tossing a complete game, striking out two, walking one and allowing only one hit.
ISU scored five runs in the first inning, four in the second and one in the third. Four of the five runs came on RBI singles from Kolar, Hickman and
Terah Blackwell. Wiley also had an RBI on sacrifice fly.
In the second inning, Galasso scored the first run of the inning on a sacrifice fly and Wiley had a two-out three-RBI double to up the ISU lead to 9-0.
Galasso hit a solo-home run in the third inning for the final run of the game.
Boise State 1 Idaho State 0
The Idaho State offense was held to two hits and the Broncos scored the only run of the game in the third inning. Boise State managed only three hits off Foster.
Taylor and Hickman had the two hits for the Bengals.
Big Sky Conference play starts March 22 at Portland State.
