Live Video POCATELLO, Idaho- The Idaho State softball team concludes the regular season on Friday, May 2 and Saturday, May 3 at North Dakota. ISU plays a double header on Friday at 1 p.m. and Saturday's single-game starts at 12 p.m. If the Bengals win two of the three games they will win the regular season championship and host the Big Sky Conference tournament.
The Week That WasIdaho State lost 11-5 to Boise State on Tuesday afternoon at Miller Ranch Stadium. The Bengals beat SUU 10-3 and 3-2 on Sunday to take over first-place in the Big Sky Conference. Saturday was scheduled to be a double header but the day was rained out, forcing two games to be played on Sunday. In the 3-2 game two win,
Vicky Galasso hit a lead-off walk-off home run in the bottom of the bottom of the seventh. Two of her three hits on the day were home runs. The Bengals had 19 hits, six home runs and 13 RBIs in the two games.
Jessica Tolmie earned the game two, 3-2 win and
Haley Douglas improved to 16-10 in the 10-3 win.
About North DakotaNorth Dakota is 5-37 and 2-9 in Big Sky Conference play. Caralyn Chewning leads the ND offense with a .347 batting average. Four North Dakota players are hitting over .300 on the season. Idaho State leads the overall series against UND, 4-0. The Bengals swept North Dakota 3-0 last year in Pocatello, winning 10-2, 19-0 and 11-2.

The Power ContinuesLast year ISU hit over .300 for the first time since the program was brought back in 2007. The Bengals finished with a .329 average, the second best mark in program history. The 1977 team finished the season with a .351 batting average. The 2013 team also set single season records in home runs with 78 and RBIs with 315. This year's ISU squad has a .343 batting average, 52 home runs, 454 hits and 293 RBIs.
Single Season RecordsKacie Burnett stole two bases against Utah Valley on April 15 to set the single season Idaho State steals record with 24 steals. She is currently 26-28.
Terah Blackwell tallied an RBI in the same game to tie the single season mark for RBIs at 60 and
Vicky Galasso was walked twice, also against Utah Valley, to set a new single season record for walks at 28. Blackwell currently has 69 RBI and Galasso has been walked 29 times.
