Box Score LOGAN, Utah - Utah State won three straight sets en route to a 3-1 victory over Idaho State in the season opener for both teams Friday Evening at the Utah State Invitational in Logan, Utah.
The Bengals took the first set 25-20 before losing leads in the second and third sets. USU won the second set 25-23 and the third 30-28.
The Aggies took the fourth set 25-14 to clinch the win.
Tressa Lyman led the Bengals with 18 kills and Mackenzie Filer had 14.
Rachel Orr led Utah State with 19 kills and Kaitlyn Van Hoff tallied 10.
The Aggies had a .215 hitting percentage to Idaho State's .175.
Hayley Farrer had 47 assists in her debut at the setter position for ISU.
The Bengals wrap up the tournament tomorrow with matches against St. Mary's (12 p.m.) and Oregon State (4 p.m.).
