Box Score 2 OGDEN, Utah – Idaho State volleyball split matches Saturday afternoon at the Utah State Invitational, winning 3-1 over Saint Mary's (Calif.) and falling 3-0 to Oregon State.
Tressa Lyman scored 12 kills to lead ISU to 3-1 victory over Saint Mary's.
The Bengals scored a .257 hitting percentage in the first set en route to a 25-19 win. In the second set ISU hit .200 and again came out on top with a 25-23 win.
In the third set the Bengals hit a.103 percentage and lost 28-26.
ISU hit .167 in fourth set to sneak out a 25-23 win to clinch the match.
Hayley Farrer had 42 assists and nine kills. Idaho State had a .171 match hitting percentage .
Lyman again led the Bengals against OSU with 13 kills. The story of the match was OSU's efficient hitting. They tallied a .500 hitting percentage including a .786 percentage by Katelyn Driscoll.
The Bengals fell 25-15 and 25-9 in the first two sets. In the third set the Bengals were competitive but lost 25-23.
The match was the third and final match of the tournament for both teams. Idaho State finished with a 1-2 record while OSU won all three of their matches.
ISU is back in action next week at the Arizona State Tournament in Tempe, Ariz. They play Alabama-Birmingham, ASU and Iowa.
