By Rachel Rowan, ISU Sports InformationPOCATELLO, Idaho- Idaho State women's volleyball continued their recent dominance, sweeping Weber State 3-0 (25-20, 25-21, and 25-19) Saturday night at Reed Gym.
The Bengals (8-7) have won five straight matches and 15 of the last 16 sets. Â The defending Big Sky Champions are 2-0 in conference play.
"That attributes to the team," Head Coach
Chad Teichert said. "When they are struggling, making too many errors they are still able to win." Â Â
ISU has won five matches in a row and nine of the last ten over Weber State. The Bengals have not lost to the Wildcats in Pocatello since September 21, 2007.
Bailey Bars lead the Bengals with 11 kills (.333).
"She's had a couple matches like this where she is just pounding the ball," Teichert said. "She's got a great arm and she is just going to get better."
Â
Tressa Lyman posted seven kills and 10 digs. She now has 997 career kills. She would be the 11th player in school history to reach 1,000.
Hayley Farrer had 36 assists while
Chloe Hirst and Whitney Harrington both posted 9 kills.
The Bengals poured in nine aces, their second highest total of the season.
Makenzie Filer had four and
Kylee Sessions added three.
"That's really impressive," Teichert said. "That's one of the places where we won the game was in serve receive."
Idaho State travels on the road for their next two matches taking on Sacramento State October 2 and Portland State October 4. Â
