ISU Returns Home to Host Sacramento State Sunday Afternoon

POCATELLO, Idaho – The ISU soccer team returns home Sunday, Oct. 11 to host Sacramento State at 12 p.m. at Davis Field. The Bengals return home following a 4-1 loss to Portland State in Hillsboro, Ore. on Friday afternoon and are in search of their first conference win.

ABOUT SACRAMENTO STATE
Sacramento State is 4-9 overall this season including a 2-3 mark in conference play. The Hornets have picked up win against both Northern Arizona and Southern Utah at home.
 
Sac State returns 18 letter winners and eight starters from last year's squad that finished ninth in the Big Sky with a 4-6-0 conference mark and a 9-10 overall record. Sophomore forward Kayla Collins leads the Hornets this season with four goals and two assists.

CSUS averages 1.3 goals per game with a .472 shots on goal percentage. The Hornets average 13.5 shots per game with a .097 shot percentage.

Sacramento State is coached by Head Coach Randy Dedini who is in his ninth season and carries a 69-73-21 overall record.

LAST MATCH: BENGALS FALL 4-1 AT PORTLAND STATE
The Idaho State soccer team fell at Portland State Friday afternoon, dropping a 4-1 decision to the Vikings at Hillsboro Stadium.
 
ISU (1-12-1, 0-5 BSC) gave up three goals in the first half in the 19th, 42nd and 43rd minutes and headed into the break facing a three-goal deficit.

The Bengals, who were outshot by the Vikings (4-9-0, 2-3 BSC) 14 to 4 in the first half, collected themselves and fired eight shots to PSU's five in the second, including 5 to 4 on goals. Sophomore forward Maria Sanchez connected in the 54th minute for her 13th goal of the season, sending a shot past the keeper into the right corner to cut PSU's lead to two, 3-1. With the goal, Sanchez is now tied for second in the nation with total goals scored this season.

The Vikings responded and scored their fourth and final goal two minutes later.
