Ali Faruq-Bey led ISU in scoring with 22 points, scoring 11 in each half. Faruq-Bey (22), Wilson (14), and
Geno Luzcando (12) combined for 48 of ISU's 76 points in the loss. ISU shot 40 percent (27-67) from the field and 40 percent (10-25) from three-point line. Â Utah Valley out rebounded ISU 46-38 and turned the ball over only seven times to the Bengals' 12.
Kyle Ingram led ISU on the board with nine. Â

"Utah Valley played really hard," Idaho State coach
Bill Evans said. "There offense really exposed our defense and we weren't able to stop them."

ISU (3-5) led early and for the majority of the first half. Its biggest lead was 12-5 five minutes into the game thanks to seven points from Wilson. The Bengals led until the 8:33 mark when UVU (4-6) capitalized on the three and a half minute ISU scoring drought to take a 22-21 lead with 8:32 left in the period.Â
Idaho State countered UVU' s run to lead 29-24 with 6:58 left before the Wolverines ended the period on a 26-4 run to lead 50-33 at the break.
"We'll get better," Evans said. "We have a lot of new guys. I think we're a capable defensive team, but we weren't tonight."
Idaho State was only outscored 50-43 in the second half. UVU shot 57 percent from the field in the second half and 51.9 for the game.
The Bengals return to the hardwood on December 21 to take on North Dakota State University in the Global Sports Tournament at Utah State University. Tipoff is at 5:30 p.m.
