Idaho State in Logan for Global Sports Tournament

ISU plays North Dakota State, Utah State and UT Rio Grande Valley.

POCATELLO, Idaho- Idaho State returns to the road for the Global Sports Tournament at Utah State December 21-23. The Bengals play North Dakota State on Dec. 21 at 5:30 p.m., Utah State on Dec. 22 at 8 p.m. and Texas Rio Grande Valley at 5:30 p.m. on Dec. 23. All games will be heard live on 101.1 KEIR. Scouting  North Dakota State
North Dakota State is 7-3 and scoring 71.4 points a game. Paul Miller leads the team in scoring at 17.5 points a game and he is shooting .447 percent from the field and averaging 5.5 rebounds. A.J. Jacobson is netting 13.9 points a game. As a team, NDSU shooting .429 percent from the field and .318 percent from the three-point line. The Bison are shooting .662 percent from the free throw line and averaging 34.2 boards a game.  North Dakota State averages only 9.8 turnovers a game.

Series vs. North Dakota State
Idaho State leads the series 2-1. The last meeting between the two schools came during the 2005-06 season during a home-in-home series. ISU won 91-87 in overtime in Pocatello and lost 86-69 in Fargo.

Scouting  Utah State
Utah State is 5-3 and scoring 70.2 points a game. The Aggies are shooting .429 percent from the field and .349 percent from the three-point line. USU is shooting .679 percent from the free throw line, averaging 37.8 rebounds, 15 assists, 12.9 turnovers and six steals a game. Jalen Moore leads Utah State in scoring at 13.3 points while Chris Smith is netting 12.8. Lew Evans is the top rebounder at 6.6 boards a game.

Series vs. Utah State
Utah State leads the series 37-15. The Aggies have won 15 straight with the most recent ISU victory being 74-70 during the 1981-82 season.

Scouting  Texas Rio Grande Valley
UT Rio Grande Valley is 3-7, scoring 68.9 points a game and giving up 77.7.  The offense is shooting .431 percent from the field while allowing opponents to shoot .436 percent. UTRGV shoots .677 from the free throw line, averages 34.9 rebounds, 14 assists and 13.7 turnovers a game. Shaquille Hines leads the team in scoring at 15.7 points a game. JJ Thompson is averaging 13.

Series vs. Texas Rio Grande Valley
This is the third meeting between the two schools and the first since the 1977-78 season. Texas Rio Grande Valley used to be know as Texas Pan American. In the 1977-78 season ISU won 77-74 and during the 1967-68 season the Bengals won 83-76.

Notes from Utah Valley Game
- Geno Luzcando made five free throws, tying his season high he has accomplished three times. His 32 minutes played tied a career-high.
- Ben Wilson's 14 points was a season-high and his six made field goals was a career-high. His eight field goal attempts was a season-high.
- Ethan Telfair's five assists tied his season high. He has now reached this feat three times.
- Kyle Ingram had a season-high nine rebounds and tied his season-high for minutes played with 25.
- Kyle Ingram has tallied 17 rebounds in the last two games. He had eight in the win over Portland and nine in the loss vs. Utah Valley.

Bengal Bites
- Idaho State is 3-0 this season when hitting 11 3-pointers or more in a game.
- This year's Bengal team is averaging 34.4 rebounds a game. Last year's team averaged 32.4.
- In the last 10 seasons the most road games ISU has won in a season is five in  2005-06.

Last year through the first eight games ISU was 38-122 from beyond the arc and shooting .311 percent. It took the Bengals 20 games to make 92 3-pointers last year. The 92 3's were made on 293 attempts.

Scoring the Ball
Since the 2004-05 season there have been two teams average more than 70 points a game. The 2005-06 team scored 78.7 points a game and the 2013-14 team netted 70.8 points. This year's team is scoring 76 points a contest. The 76 points a contest right now would rank as the 18th best average in ISU history. The school record for most points averaged per game is 90.5 by the 1965-66 team.

On the flip side, ISU is allowing 83.8 points a game. That mark would rank sixth all-time in ISU history for most points allowed per-game.
