POCATELLO, Idaho- The Idaho State men's basketball team lost to Montana State 67-53 on Saturday afternoon in Bozeman, Montana. The Bengals led 31-24 at halftime but the Bobcats outscored ISU 25-8 over the final 8:59 to cruise to the 14 point victory.
Chris Hansen scored 21 points to lead the Bengals in scoring.
Ben Wilson had a career-high 15 and
Jeffrey Solarin had eight points and 11 rebounds.
ISU shot 38.5 percent from the field and Montana State shot 42.6 percent. ISU was 11-for-16 from the free throw line and had 16 turnovers.
Michael Dison led Montana State in scoring with 29 points.
Idaho State trailed 20-10 with 10:47 left in the first half. The Bengals then went on a 21-4 run over the final 10 minutes to take the 31-24 lead at the break. ISU led 26-22 with 4:05 left in the half on a jumper by Hansen and 28-22 on a bucket by Solarin three minutes later.
In the second half, ISU was clinging to a 44-42 lead with 8:59 left in the game. The Bobcats went on a 12-2 run over the next three minutes to lead 54-46. The 67-53 final score was the biggest lead of the game for Montana State.
Idaho State returns to the court for an 8 p.m. contest at Weber State on Saturday, Feb. 28.
