The Idaho State men's basketball team closed out the season with a 67-65 victory over University of Idaho Saturday, March 7 in Holt Arena. The Bengals finished the evening shooting 44.8 percent (26-58) from the field while the Vandals shot 34.5 percent (20-58).

"I am really happy for my guys," Head Coach Bill Evans said. "They work hard, try hard and they haven't strayed from the task at hand."

Chris Hansen led with 23 points and Nnamdi Ezenwa had 14 points and five rebounds. Geno Luzcando scored 10 points and two rebounds and Ben Wilson had eight points and two rebounds.

"I just wanted to play my last game knowing I left everything on the court," Hansen said. "I have to thank all my teammates for not quitting and sending the seniors out the right way."

The Bengals shot 45.5 percent (10-22) from the three-point line while the Vandals shot 32.0% (8-25). Idaho out rebounded the Bengals 46-32. Jeffrey Solarin led the Bengals with eight rebounds.

Idaho State led 34-30 at halftime. ISU's biggest lead was 15 points at 61-46 following a layup from Solarin with 7:56 left in the game. Idaho made a run and cut the lead to 66-65 with 24 seconds remaining in the game. Wilson made one-of-two free throws with 14 seconds left and the Bengals earned the win after a last second three pointer by the Vandals fell short.

"It feels great to finish off with a win," Ezenwa said. "I couldn't ask for a better ending to finish off my senior year."

The win over the Vandals marks the last game as a Bengal for Hansen, Ezenwa, Solarin and Ajak Magot.

"I felt like all the seniors were very driven tonight," Evans said. "The other guys were all in as well. We had a whole bunch of guys step up."
