ISU Volleyball Set to Face Utah Valley in Home Opener

POCATELLO, Idaho –
The Idaho State volleyball returns to Pocatello for their season opener Tuesday, Sept. 1 against Utah Valley at 6 p.m. at Reed Gym. The Bengals sit at 1-2 after a tough opening weekend at the Utah Classic hosted by the University of Utah at the Huntsman Center in Salt Lake City, Utah.

SCOUTING UTAH VALLEY
This will be the 13th meeting between Idaho State (2-1) and Utah Valley (0-3). The series is tied at six apiece with the Bengals winning the last meeting 3-0 on Sept. 19, 2014 in Orem, Utah.

The Wolverines started their season at the Pepperdine Asics Classic in Malibu, Calif. Aug. 28-29. Utah Valley fell in three sets to UC Santa Barbara and host Pepperdine on Aug. 28 and lost in four to Incarnate Word on the 29th.

The Wolverines were picked to finish fifth in the Western Athletic Conference (WAC). Utah Valley returns 10 letter winners and four starters from the 2014 squad that finished tied for fourth in the WAC with an 8-6 mark in conference and a 14-18 overall record.

Notable returners for the Wolverines include 2014 first-team all-WAC performer Lauren Baaker, junior outside hitter and second-team all-WAC performer Macky Treanor and sophomore setter Sierra Starley.
