Soccer Hosts Southern Utah, Northern Arizona in Final Regular Season Home Games

POCATELLO, Idaho –
The Idaho State soccer team faces Southern Utah Friday, Oct. 21 and Northern Arizona Sunday, Oct. 23 in its final home matches of the season.  Kickoff for ISU's game against Southern Utah is set for 4 p.m., while Sunday's game against visiting NAU is set for 1 p.m. Both games will be at Davis Field.

SCOUTING SOUTHERN UTAH

Southern Utah carries a 2-10-2 overall record with a 1-5-1 mark in conference play, good for 10th in the Big Sky.

The Thunderbirds average 1.07 goals per game with 15 total goals on the season. SUU carries a .091 shot percentage with a .500 shot on goal percentage as they have recorded 82 shots on goal in 164 attempts.
Southern Utah is led by Ally Thimsen who has recorded four goals on the season to go along with one assist.

The Thunderbirds are led by Head Coach Becky Hogan who is in her fifth year with the program.

SERIES REVIEW

This will be the 15th time in history that ISU has faced Southern Utah. The Bengals have dominated the overall series, carrying a 12-2-0 advantage. In their last meeting, Southern Utah defeated Idaho State 4-2 in Cedar City, Utah on Oct. 25, 2015.

SCOUTING NORTHERN ARIZONA

NAU carries a 6-7-3 overall record with a 3-2-2 mark in conference play. The Bengals topped previously unbeaten EWU Sunday afternoon in Flagstaff.

The Lumberjacks average 1.25 goals per game with a .092 shot percentage and a .461 shot on goal percentage. Adrian Nixt leads the offensive attack with eight goals so far this season which ranks second in the conference.

The 'Jacks are led by Head Coach Andre Luciano who is in his 16th season with the program.

SERIES REVIEW

The series between the Bengals and the Lumberjacks has been relatively even. NAU claims the advantage with a 10-8-3 overall series record and has dominated as of late, winning five of the last six meetings. In the last meeting, ISU fell at Northern Arizona 2-1 on Oct. 23, 2015.
