POCATELLO, Idaho – The Idaho State volleyball team kicks off the second half of conference play at home this week with a home matches against North Dakota Friday, Oct. 21 and Northern Colorado Saturday, Oct. 22. Both matches will begin at 7 p.m. at Reed Gym.
SCOUTING NORTH DAKOTA
The Fighting Hawks are 15-8 overall with a 7-1 record in conference play, good for first place in the North Division. UND's only conference loss came with a 3-0 sweep at Northern Colorado on Sept. 24.
As a squad, the Fighting Hawks average 12.6 kills while hitting .224 with 11.8 assists per set. Defensively, UND averages 17.1 digs (leads the Big Sky) and 2.5 blocks per set. Four players average over two kills per set, led by Chelsea Moser with 2.7. Alivia Fraase ranks third in the Big Sky in digs per set with 4.74.
UND is led by Head Coach Mark Pryor who is in his third season with the program.
SERIES HISTORY
This will be the eighth time in program history that the Bengals have faced the Fighting Hawks. ISU leads the series 5-2 and have won each of the last three matches. In their last meeting, the Bengals swept the Fighting Hawks 3-0 in Grand Forks, N.D.
SCOUTING NORTHERN COLORADO
The Bears are 12-8 overall with a 6-2 record in conference play, good for second in the North Division. UNC's two conference losses came against NAU and Sac State.
Northern Colorado averages 13.6 kills while hitting .224 with 12.5 assists per set. Defensively, the Bears average 16.3 digs and 1.7 blocks per set. Kortney Lockey leads the offensive attack with a 3.26 kills/set average to go along with 2.94 digs. Makenna Meier leads the defensive effort with 4.48 digs per set, good for eighth in the BSC.

SERIES HISTORY
This will be the 26th time in program history that ISU has played Northern Colorado. The Bears have dominated the overall series with a 17-8 advantage, but ISU has won four of the last six meetings. In their last meeting, the Bengals defeated the Bears 3-2 in a five-set thriller in Greeley, Colo.
