In the three-day tourney, ISU is set to face Seattle U twice, Santa C lara twice and Cal State Fullerton. On Friday, Feb. 19, the Bengals play Seattle U at 2 p.m. (MDT) and Santa Clara at 6:30 p.m. (MDT). On Saturday, Feb. 20, ISU plays Cal State Fullerton at 1:15 p.m. (MDT) and Santa Clara at 5:45 p.m. The tournament concludes with a contest against Seattle U at 10 a.m. mountain time. on Sunday. ISU vs. Seattle U, Santa Clara and Cal State FullertonCal State Fullerton leads the series with ISU 2-0. ISU lost 3-1 last year in Fullerton and 5-1 in Fullerton in 2013. The series with Santa Clara is tied at 3-3. ISU has won the last three meetings, winning 12-0 in five innings at Santa Clara last year and 12-1 and 6-4 in 2013. The Bengals lead the series with Seattle U 11-7. The teams used to compete in the PCSC before ISU joined the Big Sky in 2013. ISU has won the last two meetings, winning 12-6 in 2015 and 4-2 in 2012. Prior to that Seattle won five straight meetings.
About Seattle USeattle U is 1-4 and led offensively by Paige Bouska's .500 average. She was 9-18 last weekend. Seattle U is hitting .271 and the pitching staff has a 3.73 era. Burnett Named to USA Top 50 Team Idaho State softball junior outfielder
Kacie Burnett has been named to the 2016 USA Softball Top 50 Watch List as announced by the Amateur Softball Association (ASA) of America and USA Softball. Burnett is the second Bengal to be named to the preseason watch list, as former catcher
Vicky Galasso was selected in 2014. Burnett was named first-team all-conference last season after hitting .459 in 172 at bats. She recorded 79 hits, two home runs, nine doubles, five triples and 21 RBIs in addition to 37 stolen bases on 38 attempts. The Napa, Calif. native was named the NFCA National Player of the Week on March 10 as well as Big Sky Player of the Week on two separate occasions.
