Bengals vs. T-BirdsISU leads the series 17-12. ISU has won five of the last six meetings. In 2015, the two teams played four times and ISU won all four meetings. Three of the four games were played in Cedar City with the fourth game being a 14-3 five inning win in the Big Sky Tournament.
Slagle Climbing the Record Books for WinsSophie Slagle has a 24-13 record in the circle since arriving at Idaho State. She is tied with Amanda Fitzsimmons for most wins in school history. Slagle's winning percentage is .648 (24-13), the best since Wendy Alvey went 16-6 (.727) in 1978 and Jo Hillegas-Skeleton was 16-6 in 1977 and 1979. The school record for most wins in a career is 43 by Kandis Clesson.
Burnett Off to a Hot Start in MarchKacie Burnett leads the Bengal offensive attack. She is hitting .435 and is 12-14 stealing bases. In the last three weeks she is hitting .529 (18-34). She has scored 15 runs, tallied five RBIs and is 7-7 stealing bases. Burnett has scored 26 runs and walked nine times.
Portesi Making Early ImpactAlex Portesi has made an early impact for the Bengals. The transfer from Farleigh Dickinson has the second-best batting average on the team with a .395 mark. She is 30-76 from the plate, scored 15 runs and has 11 RBIs. She has played in 25 games, starting 24. Portesi is 4-4 stealing bases.
Taylor Off to Solid Senior SeasonMicheala Taylor has started all 27 games at second base and she at one point had a 16-game hitting streak in the season. For the season she is hitting .385 (37-96). She is second on the team in runs scored with 24 and her .385 batting average is the third-best mark on the team.
