POCATELLO, Idaho- The Idaho State men's basketball team closes out the 2015-16 regular season with a contest at Idaho on Saturday, March 5. Tipoff is at 8 p.m. mountain time. The Bengals are currently in a tie for third place in the Big Sky Conference at 11-6. An ISU win puts them in third place for the conference tournament. The Bengals can still claim a Top 4 seed with a loss depending results of the North Dakota at Montana State game and the Weber State at Eastern Washington game.

Series vs. Idaho
Idaho leads the series 57-45. The Bengals won the last meeting between the two schools, 67-65, in Pocatello on March 7, 2015. The Vandals had won the previous three meetings. ISU's last win in Moscow was 71-69 in overtime during the 2007-08 season.

Scouting Idaho
Idaho is 19-11 and 11-6 in Big Sky Conference play. Victor Sanders leads the Vandals in scoring at 17.2 in conference play. Idaho is scoring 69.1 points a game in league and giving up 66.6. Idaho shoots .444 percent in conference play while opponents are shooting .417 percent. The Vandals average 38.3 rebounds a game and shoot .715 percent from the free throw line in league play. Overall, Sanders is scoring 15.7 points and Idaho is averaging 69.3 points a game while only allowing 65.4 points. UI shoots .438 percent from the field and averages 38 boards a game.

Notes from the Win over Eastern Washington
- Ethan Telfair's seven 30 plus point games moves him into a tie with Steve Hayes for fourth place for most in a career.
- Idaho State set the school record for most 3-pointers made in a season. The Bengals have made 238 3-pointers and the record was 237 by the 2000-01 team.
- Idaho State has guaranteed itself an above .500 season for the first time since finishing 15-14 during the 2002-03 season.
-  Thursday's win broke a 13-game losing streak at Eastern Washington.
- Five road wins is the most since the 2005-06 team won five.
- Novak Topalovic and Kyle Ingram combined for 17 rebounds from the center position.

The Bengals were picked last by the coaches and media in the preseason polls. Now with two games to play ISU can finish as high as third place but no lower than fifth place.

 The Bengals have made more throws than the 2014-15 team. This year ISU is 478- 658 from the line and the 2014-15 team was 391-601. The 2013-14 team was 500-701 from the foul line.

The 2015-16 Bengals now hold the school record for most 3-pointers made and attempted in a season. ISU has made 238 3's on 632 attempts and shooting .377 percent from behind the arc. The previous record for makes was 237 by the 2000-01 team and 599 attempts by the 2000-01 and the 2006-07 teams.
