POCATELLO, Idaho – The Idaho State softball team heads to Utah for a single game against WAC foe Utah Valley April 12 at 3 p.m. To follow the games online with live video and stats, log onto isubengals.com.

About Utah Valley
Utah Valley is 5-29 with a 1-5 mark in WAC conference play. The Wolverines are hitting .246 as a squad and their pitching carries a 6.11 era through 34 games. Junior Brianna Gatlin is hitting .318 to lead UVU with 18 RBIs and two homers. Sophomore Kellee Ramsey leads the Wolverines in the circle with a 5.31 era and a 1-5 record in 54.0 innings.

Bengals vs. Utah Valley
Utah Valley leads the series 21-16, but the Bengals have dominated as of late winning six of the last seven meetings. In the last meeting, Idaho State bested UVU 10-2 in five innings at Miller Ranch Stadium on April 21, 2015.

Slagle Climbing the Record Books for Wins
Sophie Slagle has a 26-14 record in the circle since arriving at Idaho State. Slagle's 26 wins ranks third all-time in ISU history, 11 wins shy of second all-time. Slagle's winning percentage is .650, the best since Wendy Alvey went 16-6 (.727) in 1978 and Jo Hillegas-Skeleton was 16-6 in 1977 and 1979. The school record for most wins in a career is 43 by Kandis Clesson.

Burnett Has Impressive March
Kacie Burnett leads the Bengals offensive attack. She is hitting .429 and is 16-19 stealing bases. She has scored 35 runs and tallied 16 RBIs. In the month of March, she hit .500, scored 17 runs, has 23 hits, was 7-8 stealing bases and had seven RBIs.

Portesi Making an Impact
Alex Portesi is making a big impact for the Bengals this season. The transfer from Farleigh Dickinson has the second-best batting average on the team at .385, has scored 19 runs and has 14 RBIs. She is 4-4 in stealing bases.

Taylor off to Solid Senior Season
Micheala Taylor has started all 34 games at second base and at one point carried a 16-game hitting streak this season. For the season, she is hitting .350 and she is second on the team in runs scored with 30.

Where the Bengals Rank in NCAA Stats
Idaho State has the 20th best batting average in the country at .326, up nine spots from last week. They rank 42nd in steals per game at 1.65. Kacie Burnett has the 46th best batting average in the country at .429. Micheala Taylor ranks tied for 27th in the country as the toughest person to strike out.
