POCATELLO, Idaho- The Idaho State softball team plays its final regular season series on the road this weekend with three games at Portland State April 29-30. The Bengals play a doubleheader on April 29 starting at 2 p.m. and then play a single-game at 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 30. Live stats and video are available at isubengals.com.
Portland State is 12-27 overall and 6-9 in league. Portland State is hitting .286 as a team and led by Candice Orozco's .348 average. She has three home runs and 23 RBIs. The pitching staff has a 5.69 era. Alyssa Burk has a 3.45 era and 3-3 in the circle in 50.2 innings. Meagan Hendrix has pitched 74 innings and is 3-9.
Portland State leads the series 19-10. The Bengals are 3-9 vs. PSU in Portland. Idaho State has won seven of the last nine meetings. ISU swept the series in Pocatello last year, winning 9-1, 8-0 and 8-0. ISU took two of three from Portland State in 2014 in Portland, winning 2-1, 7-4 and losing 10-2.
Slagle Climbing the Record Books for Wins
Sophie Slagle has a 27-16 record in the circle since arriving at Idaho State. Slagle's 27 wins ranks third all-time in ISU history.  Slagle's winning percentage is .627 (27-16), the best since Wendy Alvey went 16-6 (.727) in 1978 and Jo Hillegas-Skeleton was 16-6 in 1977 and 1979. The school record for most wins in a career is 43 by Kandis Clesson.
Burnett's Hot March Continues Into April
Kacie Burnett leads the Bengal offensive attack. She is hitting .454 and is 20-25 stealing bases. She has scored 42 runs and tallied 19 RBIs. In the month of March she hit .500, scored 17 runs, had 23 hits, was 7-8 stealing bases and had seven RBIs. In 11 games in April she is hitting .514 with with 19 hits and she has scored 14 runs.
Portesi Making Impact
Alex Portesi has made an impact for the Bengals. The transfer from Farleigh Dickinson has the second-best batting average on the team at .385, scored 20 runs and has 16 RBIs. She is 4-4 stealing bases.
Taylor Having Solid Senior Season
Micheala Taylor has started all 41 games at second base and she at one point had a 16-game hitting streak in the season. For the season she is hitting .331. She is second on the team in runs scored with 32.
Where The Bengals Rank in NCAA Stats
Idaho State ranks 23rd in the country in batting average at .325.
Kacie Burnett has the 13th best batting average in the country at .454 and she ranks 40th in runs per game at 1.02 and 54th in on base percentage at .509.
Maddy Hickman is 25th in RBIss per game at 1.12 and
Micheala Taylor ranks 12th as the toughest to strike out.

ISU has the second best batting average in the conference at .325 and the fourth best era at 4.59.
Kacie Burnett leads the Big Sky in batting with a .454 average. She is also first in hits (64), runs (42) and stolen bases (20).
Maddy Hickman is first in RBI at 46 and home runs with 10.
