POCATELLO, Idaho – The Idaho State volleyball team will participate in the Orange and Black inter-squad scrimmage this Friday, Aug. 19 at 7 p.m. at Reed Gym. The scrimmage is free and open to the public.
The Bengals return eight players from last season's squad that finished 23-10 overall and made its fourth-consecutive appearance in the Big Sky Conference tournament championship match. ISU lost three starters to graduation in
Tressa Lyman,
Makenzie Filer and
Kaitlyn Johnson, but the Bengals return four starters in First Team All-Big Sky performer
Hayley Farrer, Second Team All-Big Sky selection
Bailey Bars, junior middle hitter
Marissa Todd and junior outside hitter
Chloe Hirst.
Idaho State was picked to finish fourth in the Big Sky Conference in the preseason poll released last week by the league. Northern Arizona, which defeated ISU 3-0 in the Big Sky Conference tournament championship match to advance to the NCAAs last season, was picked to finish first, followed by Northern Colorado and North Dakota in second and third, respectively.
The Orange and Black Scrimmage will be the only time fans will be able to catch the Bengals live before the Idaho State Invitational tournament Sept. 8-10. Click
