POCATELLO, Idaho- The Idaho State softball team returns to this field March 10-11 for two games at No. 4 Oregon and contests against Pacific and Hofstra. The Bengals play Pacific and Oregon on March 10 and Hofstra and Oregon on March 11. For information on how to follow the game log onto isubengals.com.
Scouting Oregon
Oregon is 19-0 and ranked No. 4 in the country. The Ducks are hitting .375 while the pitching staff is holding opponents to a .184 average. The Oregon pitching staff has a 1.20 average and Alexis Mack is hitting .509. Oregon leads the series 6-1. The Bengals win was 2-0 on April 15, 1983. The last time the two teams played Oregon won 19-0 and 13-0 on March 26, 2010.
Scouting Pacific
This is the first meeting between the two schools. Pacific is 10-9 and led by the play of Hailey Reed who is hitting .322. The team is batting .254 and the pitching staff has a 3.15 era.
Scouting Hofstra
Hofstra is 7-6 and batting .254. The pitching staff has a 3.72 era and Lacey Clark is batting .421. This is the first meeting between the two schools.
And the Winner Is
Kacie Burnett is the first Bengal to be named Big Sky Player of the Week this season. Burnett hit .700 on a weekend ISU went 3-2 at the Colorado State Classic. She was 14-20 at the plate, scoring seven runs, with seven RBIs, two doubles and one triple.

Idaho State senior
Kacie Burnett is Idaho State's all-time hit leader. The senior outfielder had three hits against Fresno State. to break Vicky Galasso's record of 253. Burnett now has 270 hits after going 14-20 (.700 average) in five games at Colorado State. Burnett is also first in career triples with 17 and first in stolen bases with 98 on 111 attempts.

Burnett Named to Top 50 "Watch List" for the 2017 USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year
For the second straight year Idaho State senior outfielder
Kacie Burnett has been named to the Top 50 "Watch List" for the 2017 USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year. Burnett is the first Bengal to receive this honor twice and only the second player to ever earn this as Vicky Galasso was named to the Watch List in 2014.
Since arriving in Pocatello as a freshman, Burnett has put up eye-popping numbers as her career batting average is .453. As a junior in 2016 she hit .454, scored 51 runs, had 79 hits, 27 RBIs and a .510 on base percentage. She stole 27 bases on 32 attempts and for her career has stolen 91 bases on 102 attempts.
Burnett was one of only 16 players on the list who were from a non Power 5 conference.
Weekend Recap
Idaho State is coming off a weekend where it went 3-2 in the Colorado State Classic. The Bengals beat Buffalo, 9-4 and 21-9. ISU beat Penn State 12-6 and lost 5-2. Colorado State beat the Bengals 8-0.
Kacie Burnett was 14-20 at the plate. ISU hit .395 on the weekend.
