POCATELLO, Idaho- For the fifth straight year, the Idaho State softball team will compete in the Big Sky Conference tournament. For the second straight year it will be held at Weber State. The Bengals go into this year as the No. 6 seed and they will play at 12 p.m. on Thursday, May 11 vs. No. 3 Sacramento State. ISU in Big Sky Tournament
ISU is 8-8 in the Big Sky Tournament. The Bengals have advanced to the title game in 2014 and 2016. In 2014 ISU forced the IF game vs. SUU before losing and last year ISU lost to Weber State 4-2 in the championship game. Idaho State went 1-2 in the Big Sky Tournament in 2013 and 2015. Sac State and Idaho State have met in elimination games three times in the last three years. Last year ISU eliminated the Hornets 7-4 to get to the title game. In 2015 the Bengals were sent home from the tournament by Sac State and in 2014 the Bengals eliminated Sac State from the tournament.
