POCATELLO, Idaho – The Idaho State soccer team hosts Boise State Sunday, Aug. 27 at 1 p.m. at Davis Field in its 2017 home opener. Both the Bengals and the Broncos carry a 1-1-0 record, but Boise State claims the edge on the series with a 9-8-2 edge.
BENGALS REVIEW
Idaho State opened play last weekend on the road with games at Chicago State and at Michigan. The Bengals dominated Chicago State, scoring three goals in the first half and cruising to the 3-0 win. ISU shared the ball well, with three different players scoring and three different players recording assists.

Corinne Sanderson recorded an assist.
SCOUTING BOISE STATE
· The Broncos are 1-1 on the season after splitting games against Montana and Southern Utah. The Griz bested BSU 1-0 on Aug. 18, while the Broncos smashed Southern Utah 5-1 two days later on Aug. 20.
· Redshirt senior Baylee Blaser had led the offensive attack with two goals, both of which came against BSU's win over Southern Utah. Raimee Sherle, McKenna Kynett and Sarah Taylor also have a goal on the season, while Sherle, Emily Curry and Kynett also have an assist.
· The Broncos return 17 letter winners and nine starters from last season's squad that finished 6-11-4 overall with a 5-3-3 mark in the Mountain West, good for sixth. Boise State advanced to the conference tournament, making it to the quarterfinal round before ending the season.
· Boise State is led by Head Coach Jim Thomas who is in his fifth season with Boise State.
SERIES REVIEW
Boise State claims the edge in the series with a 9-8-2 edge, and the Broncos have won four of the last six meetings with a 4-1-1 record.
Against the Big Sky so far this season, Boise State fell to visiting Montana 1-0 and cruised to the 5-1 victory over Southern Utah.
