POCATELLO, Idaho – The Idaho State soccer team hits the road for its first competition in over a week. The Bengals travel to Laramie, Wyo. to face Wyoming on Sept. 14 then head west to face the Ducks of Oregon on Sept. 17.
SCOUTING OPPONENT: WYOMING
· Wyoming carries a 3-3-1 overall record, with wins against Southern Utah, UTEP and Northern Colorado. Two of Wyoming's losses have come in overtime games: at Baylor (L, 2-1 OT) and at Kentucky (L, 2-1 2OT).
·The Cowgirls average 1.57 goals per game with 11.1 shots per game and a .538 shot on goal percentage.
· Brittney Stark leads the charge with four goals on the year and a .286 shot percentage, while Alisha Bass is close behind with three goals and an assists. Six players have scored this season for Wyoming, while five players have recorded an assist.
· Wyoming is led by Head Coach Pete Cuadrado who is in his sixth season at Wyoming.
· This is the 10th time in program history that ISU has face Wyoming. The Cowgirls carry a 5-3-1 advantage in the series and have won the last two meetings. In the last meeting, Wyoming defeated ISU 2-0 in Pocatello on Aug. 23, 2016.
SCOUTING OPPONENT: OREGON
· The Ducks carry a 4-2-0 overall record this season with wins against Kansas State, Oklahoma, Cal Poly and Idaho, with losses coming against North Carolina State and UC Irvine.
· Oregon was picked to finish 10th in the Pac-12 this season. The Ducks return 15 letter winners and nine starters from last year's squad that finished 10th in Pac-12 (2-7-1).
· UO averages1.17 goals per game off 14.8 shots per game with a .438 shot on goal percentage.
· Marissa Everett leads the Ducks with three goals on the season and one assist, with a .200 shot percentage and a .600 shot on goal percentage. Eight different Ducks have recorded an assist on the year.
· Oregon is led by Head Coach Kat Mertz who is in her fifth season with the Ducks.
· This is the first time in program history that these two teams have faced each other.
LAST TIME OUT: ISU vs. HAWAI'I
Idaho State fired off 20 shots, including eight on goal, against the Rainbow Wahine, but the Bengals struggled to find the back of the net. In the first half, ISU prevented Hawai'i from taking a single shot on goal, but UH finished with six shots on goal in the second, capitalizing on two, to earn the 2-0 win.
