POCATELLO, Idaho- The Idaho State men's basketball team closes out the 2018 calendar year with a 2 p.m. tipoff at Eastern Washington on Monday, Dec. 31. Jerry Miller will call the action live on 102.5 KMGI. To follow the game online with live audio, video and stats log onto isubengals.com.

Eastern Washington has won 11 of the last 13 meetings against the Bengals. ISU's two wins was 83-72 in Holt Arena on Jan. 4, 2014 and 75-71 in Cheney on March 3, 2016.

Scouting Eastern Washington
Eastern Washington is 2-10 with seven games coming away from Roos Court. The Eagles opened Big Sky Conference play on Saturday with an 84-72 home loss to Weber State.  Mason Peatling had 25 points. Jesse Hunt had seven points and 11 rebounds while Jacob Davison had 13 points. Hunt is scoring 15.1 points a game and averaging 8.1 rebounds. Davison is averaging 10.7 points.

Eastern Washington is averaging 66.9 points a game and giving up 79 points. The Eagles shoot .382 percent from the field and allow opponents to shoot .471 percent. Eastern shoots .307 percent from the three-point line and opponents shoot .393 percent. Eastern Washington shoots .675 percent from the free throw line and averages 34.9 rebounds.

Recapping Idaho
- Idaho State gave up a season-low 55 points. It ties for the fewest points ISU has allowed against a Division I team since 2014. ISU also gave up 55 at CSUN on Dec. 23, 2017. The Bengals then allowed 51 at Grand Canyon on Dec. 9, 2014 and at UVU on Dec. 23, 2014.
- Idaho State is 3-0 when out rebounding its opponents.
- Brandon Boyd had a season-high five rebounds and he tied his career in steals with four.
- Idaho State is now 3-0 when one or two players score in double figures.
- Idaho State led 42-28 at halftime. The Bengals used a 16-0 run in the first half to break the game open.
- Gary Chivichyan came off the bench to score a game-high 24 points on 7-11 shooting in 29 minutes of play. He was 6-9 from the three-point line, 4-4 from the foul line and had four rebounds.
- Jared Stutzman had 10 points. Brandon Boyd had nine points and a career-high eight assists. Chier Maker and Kelvin Jones led the Bengals in rebounding with six while Jones and Alonzo Walker each had three blocks.
- Idaho State shot 41.7 percent from the field and held Idaho to 33.3 percent shooting (18-54). The Vandals were 2-15 from the three-point line while the Bengals were 12-32.
- ISU led 44-28 in the first minute of the second half. Idaho went on a 12-2 run to cut its deficit to 46-40 with 15:36 left in the game.
- The Vandals would not get any closer as the Bengals led by as many as 21 at 72-51 with 2:06 remaining following a 3-pointer by Balint Mocsan.

Boyd Leads the Way
In Brandon Boyd's career at Idaho State he has led the Bengals in scoring 22 times, assists 19 times and steals 22 times.

Idaho State shot 47.5 percent from the field last year and through 10 games is shooting 45.6 percent this season. Last season was was the best field goal percentage by a Bengal team since the 1996-97 team shot .475 percent and the 2003-04 team shot .463 percent.
