POCATELLO, Idaho- The Idaho State softball team dropped a 7-1 decision to Texas Tech of the Big 12 Conference on Friday morning at UC Riverside. The Bengals had eight hits to the Red Raiders nine but committed two errors.
Haley Harrison and
Ashlyn Ames went 3-4 at the plate while
Emma Bordenkecher and Makenzie
VanSickle each had one hit.
Ames took the loss in the circle. She tossed a complete game, scattering nine hits, walking three and striking out seven.
Texas Tech led 3-0 after the top of the third inning. ISU then scored its run in the bottom of the third inning. With two outs Harrison singled and Bordenkecher brought her home on another single.
Texas Tech then scored two runs in the fifth and two in the sixth inning to put the game away.
Idaho State plays Purdue at 10 a.m. and Texas Tech at 12:30 p.m.
