Bengals Close Out Regular Season at Montana

POCATELLO, Idaho- The Idaho State men's basketball team closes out the regular season on Saturday, March 3 vs. Montana in Missoula. Scouting Montana
Montana improved to 22-7 and 15-2 in Big Sky Conference play. ISU has dropped eight straight in Missoula with the last win being 56-54 during the 2007-08 season. Montana clinched the regular season Big Sky title on Thursday with the win over Weber State. The Grizzlies are led by junior guard Ahmaad Rorie, putting up 17.2 points a game. He is shooting .424 percent from the field and .336 percent from the three-point line. Michael Oguine is scoring 15.1 points a game. UM is scoring 77.4 points a game and giving up 68.1.

The Grizzlies shoot .468 percent from the field, .337 percent from the three-point line and .705 percent from the free throw line. They average 36.9 rebounds, 13.2 assists, 12.8 turnovers, 8.1 steals and 3.4 blocks a game.

In conference play Rorie is scoring 16.8 points a game while Oguine is netting 15.5. UM scores 80.7 points a game in league and gives up 67.2. The Grizzlies shoot .468 percent from the field, .337 percent from the three-point line and .705 percent from the foul line.

Notes Following the Win Over Montana State
- Jared Stutzman had a career-high 33 points. He was  11-14 from the field and 8-11 from the three-point line.
- Geno Luzcando had a season-high 22 points.
- This is only the third time ISU has scored over 100 points since January of 2006. The Bengals lost 107-106 to Sacramento State on Jan. 12, 2006 and beat Dickinson State 110-85 on Nov. 16, 2015.
- ISU was 17-32 from the three-point line, tying the school record for most 3's in a game. ISU also hit 17 3's vs. Dickinson State on 38 attempts.
- Seven turnovers by the Bengals was a season-low.
- Blake Truman had a career-high six rebounds.
- 11 made  field goals by Jared Stutzman tied his career-high while 8-11 from the three-point line was a career-high.
- Six assists by Brandon Boyd tied his career-high.
- Geno Luzcando moved into 16th place on the ISU All-Time Scoring list with his 22 points.  He has 1,160 points and needs 23 points to move into 15th place.

Hot Shooting From the Field
Idaho State is shooting 47.6 percent from the field at this point in the season. It is the best field goal percentage by a Bengal team since the 1996-97 team shot .475 percent and the 2003-04 team shot .463 percent. The school record for best field goal percentage in a season is .512 percent by the 1980-81 team.
