Softball Plays at Portland State on Friday and Saturday

POCATELLO, Idaho- The Idaho State softball team returns to the field March 30-31 for a three-game series at Portland State. The doubleheader on March 30 begins at 2 p.m. mountain time while the single game on the 31^st begins at 1 p.m.

Portland State is 8-21 and 1-2 in Big Sky Conference play. North Dakota beat the Vikings two out of three games last weekend. Portland State leads the overall series with Idaho State 20-16 but ISU has won 12 of the last 16 meetings. Idaho State took two of three from Portland State last year, losing 10-2 and winning 14-2 and 12-4.

Makenzie VanSickle leads the Idaho State offense with a .365 average. She has 23 hits, scored eight runs and has 10 stolen bases. Ashlyn Ames is hitting .310 with two homeruns and 10 RBIs. Ames has also tossed 62 innings in the circle. VanSickle has reached base in 12 straight games.

- Idaho State is 47-29 at Miller Ranch Stadium.
- The top six teams qualify for the Big Sky Tournament. This year's tournament will be held at Weber State.
