Softball Prepares for Five Games at Colorado State

POCATELLO, Idaho- The Idaho State softball team returns to the field March 9-11 at the Colorado State Classic in Fort Collins, Colo. The Bengals open play March 9 vs. Utah Valley at 9 a.m. and St. Johns at 11:15 a.m.

ISU then plays UVU on March 10 at 11:15 a.m. and Colorado State at 3:45 p.m. ISU closes play at the Colorado State Classic against Colorado State on March 11 at 11:15 a.m.

Idaho State is looking for its first win of the season after starting the season 0-10. Makenzie VanSickle leads ISU offensively with a .400 average. She is 10-25 at the plate with three RBIs and one run score.

Emma Bordenkecher is hitting .355 with two home runs and nine RBIs. She has two doubles and one triple while scoring four runs. Haley Harrison is hitting .308 and she has scored a team-high six runs.

The team is hitting .253 and has scored 23 runs with four homers and 19 RBIs through the first 10 games.

VanSickle has a four-game hitting streak and Ashlyn Ames has reached base in five straight games. Harrison has a three-game hitting streak.

Colorado State is 8-6 and has recorded wins over Wisconsin (4-3), Texas (6-2), Montana (3-1) and Northern Colorado (9-4).

Utah Valley is 4-8 with three wins over SUU and one over Boise State.

St. Johns is 4-12 with wins over East Carolina (9-1), Florida International (8-0), UC Riverside (7-2) and Quinnipiac (9-0).
