Softball Hosts Boise State on Tuesday

POCATELLO, Idaho- The Idaho State softball team returns home to Miller Ranch Stadium to host Boise State in a doubleheader on Tuesday, April 3 beginning at 2 p.m.

Boise State leads the series 15-5. The last meeting between the two schools was in 2016 in Boise where ISU won 11-0 in six inning and lost 6-4. ISU is 4-7 against the Broncos in the last seven meetings.

Idaho State is led offensively by Makenzie VanSickle's .329 average. Frankie Tago has a team-best four home runs and Emma Bordenkecher leads the team in RBIs with 13. VanSickle has reached base in 15 straight games and Bordenkecher has five multiple hit games this year.

Ashlyn Ames has pitched 77.2 innings and has a 3.15 era. Mariah Mulcahy has pitched 70 innings.

Boise State is 23-11 and 6-3 in Mountain West play. The Broncos hit .346 and boast a 3.26 era. Rebekah Cervantes leads BSU with a .427 batting average. Ashlyn Adams and Kora Wade are also hitting over .400.

Following Tuesday's doubleheader Idaho State hosts Northern Colorado in a three-game series on April 6-7. April 6 doubleheader starts at 2 p.m. and the single-game on Saturday, April 7 starts at 1 p.m.

- Idaho State is 47-29 at Miller Ranch Stadium.
- The top six teams qualify for the Big Sky Tournament. This year's tournament will be held at Weber State.
