Softball Hosts Sacramento State at Miller Ranch Stadium

POCATELLO, Idaho-  The Idaho State softball team is riding a three-game winning streak going into this weekends three-game conference series vs. Sacramento State on April 13-14. The Bengals play a doubleheader on Friday, April 13, beginning at 2 p.m. and the April 14 game begins at 1 p.m.

Idaho State leads the series vs. Sacramento State 18-8. ISU is 12-3 vs. Sac State in the last 15 meetings. ISU went 4-1 against the Hornets last year. The Bengals won two of three in Sacramento, winning 4-1 and 6-4 in eight innings before losing 10-1 in six innings. ISU beat Sac State twice in the Big Sky tournament, winning 10-4 and 9-7.

Genesis Zamora leads the Bengal offensive attack with a .317 average. She is hitting .435 in the last nine games (10-23). Emma Bordenkecher is hitting .310 and .393 in the last nine games.

Idaho State is hitting .239 as a team and the pitching staff has a 6.21 era. Ashlyn Ames has a 3.44 era in 95.2 innings of work and Mariah Mulcahy has a 6.37 era in 89 innings.

Sacramento State is 21-11 overall and 6-3 in Big Sky Conference play. Zamari Hinton is batting .405 and Suzy Brookshire is hitting .389 and Nene Alas is batting .357. The Hornets are hitting .299 and the pitching staff has a 3.12 era. Celina Matthias has a 2.07 era and a 13-4 record in 121.2 innings.
