Softball Set for Three Games at Weber State on Friday and Saturday

POCATELLO, Idaho- The Idaho State softball team plays a three-game series at first-place Weber State on April 20-21. The doubleheader on April 20 begins at 2 p.m. while the April 21 contest starts at 12 p.m. Live video and stats will be available through isubengals.com.

Idaho State is 10-27 and 5-7 in Big Sky Conference play. The Bengals have won two of three over Northern Colorado and Sacramento State the last two weeks. Last week the Bengals beat Sacramento State 9-0 (5 innings), 6-3 and lost 3-2 in 12 innings. ISU also beat Utah State 9-7 in Logan.

Idaho State's offense is led by Makenzie VanSickle, who is hitting .324. She is currently out due to injury. Genesis Zamora has upped her average to .311 and Emma Bordenkecher is batting .291. Bordenkecher has a team-high 19 RBIs while Ashlyn Ames and Frankie Tago each have four home runs.

In conference play, Zamora is batting .379 while Ames has three of her four homers in league play.

In the circle, Ames has pitched 112.2 innings and has three wins while Mariah Mulcahy has six wins in 96 innings of work.

In league play Mulcahy is 3-1 with a 3.00 era in 28 innings. Ames is 2-6 in league but boasts a 1.96 era in 60.2 innings.

Idaho State leads the series with Weber State 30-27. The Bengals are 10-14 against the Wildcats in Ogden. Weber State has won the last eight meetings. Last year ISU lost 2-1, 7-6 and 9-6 in Pocatello and 8-6 at the Big Sky tournament in Ogden.
