POCATELLO, Idaho- The Idaho State softball team lost 15-6 in five innings to Boise State on Wednesday afternoon at Dona Larson Park in Boise, Idaho.
Idaho State had seven hits and committed one error while Boise State scored its 15 runs on 13 hits.
Ashlyn Ames was 1-3 with a homer and two RBIs.
Cassidy FitzGerald was 1-3 with a homer, RBI and two runs scored.
Shayna Dahlen,
Aubrey Creekmore and
Ellery Jones all had hits.
Danni Ryan also hit a three-run homer in the third inning.
Ryan took the loss in the circle.
Idaho State scored one run in the first inning but Boise State responded with an 11 run inning in the bottom of the first.
ISU scored three runs in the third inning on Ryan's homer but Boise State added four in the bottom half of the inning to extend its lead to 15-4.
Ames homered in the fourth inning and FitzGerald homered in the fifth inning.
Idaho State is still in contention for a berth in the Big Sky Conference tournament. The Bengals host Southern Utah in a three-game series on Friday, April 27 and Saturday, April 28. The doubleheader on April 27 begins at 2 p.m. and the single game on April 28 starts at 1 p.m.
