POCATELLO, Idaho – Idaho State nears conference play with its final tournament of the season in Seattle, Wash. The Bengals play Seattle University and Tennessee Tech University in the Redhawk Invitational Sept. 14-15.
Last Time Out
Idaho State had its strongest outing so far at the Pioneer Showdown last weekend. The Bengals swept Saint Peter's and Fairleigh Dickinson before falling to Denver in three sets. The team improved to a 5-6 record overall.
Abby Garrity and
Nicole Lee led the team with 34 kills. Garrity averaged 4.86 per set and hit at a .431 clip.
Brooke Pehrson hit .455 for the weekend and tallied six blocks.
Chelsea Johnson averaged 12.44 assists per set with 109 for the weekend.
The Bengals hit .500 in the match against Saint Peter's. It was the highest hitting percentage recorded by a Big Sky team this season.

Scouting Seattle University
Seattle enters play with a 5-4 record and will take its home court for the first time this season.
Sofia Sanchez and Rachel Stark lead the team with 85 and 84 kills respectively. Shae Harris is averaging 9.21 assists per set and libero Tijana Milojevic averages 3.59 digs per set.
The Redhawks are hitting .207 on the season and averaging 12.3 kills, 11.7 assists, 12.8 digs and 1.9 blocks per set.
Seattle Head Coach James Finley enters his sixth year at the helm of the program. He holds a 74-84 record at SU and a 362-237 overall record.
Idaho State is 2-1 against Seattle all-time. Seattle won the most recent matchup in 2010 with a 3-0 sweep.
Scouting Tennessee Tech University
Tennessee Tech is 6-5 this season. Three players have eclipsed 100 kills this season including Rachel Thomas, Ali Verzani and Erica Grant. Grant, a freshman outside hitter, is averaging 3.19 kills per set and has 90 digs as well. Kirsten Brugere averages 4.36 digs per set, and setter Susie Jezlorowski averages 10.69 assists per set and is third in the nation in total assists with 449.
As a team, the Golden Eagles hit .173 and average 12.93 kills, 12.14 assists, 15.55 digs and 1.83 blocks per set. TTU holds several national rankings, coming in at No. 6 in attacks (1,571), No. 11 in aces (70), No. 13 in team assists (510), No. 15 in kills (543), No. 18 in digs (653), No. 49 in aces (1.67) and No. 60 in opponent hitting percentage (0.166).
