Idaho State Improves to 2-0 Record at Pioneer Showdown with Sweep of Fairleigh Dickinson

POCATELLO, Idaho --  Idaho State (5-5) collected its second second sweep of the Pioneer Showdown with a 3-0 win (25-18, 25-12, 25-13) over Fairleigh Dickinson (0-8) Saturday morning. The Bengals hit .418 for the match and limited FDU to .155.

"The team has done a great job of building off their training," said Head Coach Rick Reynolds. "Their individual focus on the targets laid out for them by the staff is bearing fruit and showing progress."

Nicole Lee (14), Abby Garrity (11) and Brooke Pehrson (11) all reached double-digit kill counts. This is the third time this season and the second-consecutive game Lee has led ISU in kills.

Garrity and Pehrson were lethal at the net, hitting .474 and .556 respectively. Garrity's first kill of the match was the 900th of her career at Idaho State. The Bengals had 54 kills and Chelsea Johnson collected 47 assists.

The Knights out-blocked the Bengals, but trailed in kills, attacks, hitting percentage, assists and digs. Erin Singer tallied nine kills for FDU and Erika Sullivan collected eight.
