POCATELLO, Idaho- The Idaho State men's basketball team lost 77-53 to Northern Colorado on Monday night in Reed Gym. Other than an early 2-1 lead, Northern Colorado led the entire game.
Brandon Boyd scored 15 point to lead Idaho State.
Kelvin Jones had 11 points, six rebounds and four blocks.
Alonzo Walker had 10 points and seven rebounds.
Idaho State shot 41.8 percent from the field and made only two 3-pointers on 17 attempts. The Bengals were 5-9 from the free throw line and out rebounded 35-31.
Northern Colorado shot 44.8 percent and made 13 3-pointers on 27 attempts. The Bears had 14 assists to only five turnovers.
Northern Colorado broke the game open midway through the first half. Idaho State trailed 16-15 with 9:03 to play until halftime after a layup by
Balint Mocsan. Six minutes later the Bears extended their lead to 32-20 with 3:26 to play in the first half and led 42-27 at halftime.
Idaho State got no closer than 13 points the rest of the night.
The Bengals return to the court January 24 for a 7 p.m. contest at Montana and January 26 for a 2 p.m. game at Montana State.
