Volleyball Preview: Eastern Washington and Idaho

Game Notes

POCATELLO, Idaho- Idaho State volleyball continues conference play this week hosting Eastern Washington on Oct. 24 at 7 p.m. (MST) in Reed Gym and on the road in Moscow, Idaho to face the Idaho Vandals on Oct. 26 at 7 p.m. (MST) in the Battle of the Domes.

Admission to Thursday's match is $7 for adults, $5 for kids, and free for ISU students. Tickets can be purchased at the door or call 208-282-FANS for tickets and information. Thursday's match will feature Live Video, Live Stats, and Audio brought to you by KISU 91.1 and Saturday's match will have Live Stats and Live Video. All platforms can be accessed here:

Eastern Washington
Eastern Washington has an overall 3-17 record and is 1-7 in Big Sky Conference play with recent matches against Southern Utah (W, 3-2) and Northern Arizona (L, 3-1). The Eagles average 10.5 kills per set for an attacking percentage of .157. Defensively, they average 14.8 digs per set and 1.5 blocks per set. 

Since 1978, Idaho State holds a 39-40 record against EWU and is 19-16 at home. ISU has won the last nine match-ups with their last loss against the Eagles in an away game in 2012.

During the 2018 season, the team went 8-22 overall and was 0-18 in conference play.

University of Idaho
Idaho has an overall 10-10 record and is 6-2 in BSC with recent victories over Southern Utah (3-1) and Northern Arizona (3-1). The Vandals average 12.1 kills per set and a .261 attacking percentage. Defensively, they average 14.7 digs per set and 2.8 blocks per set. 

Since 1978, Idaho State holds a 19-23 record against in-state rival Idaho and is 8-10 on the road. In 2018 the two teams matched-up twice with one ISU victory (3-1) at home and an Idaho victory (3-0) in Moscow. 

The team shared the 2018 Big Sky regular season title with Northern Arizona and took the No. 2 seed at the conference tourney compiling a 21-20 overall record and a 15-3 record in conference play.
