POCATELLO, Idaho- The Idaho State men's basketball team concluded exhibition play on Tuesday night in Reed Gym with a 62-52 win over Montana Tech.
Malik Porter led the Bengals with 17 points and 13 rebounds on 8-10 shooting from the field.
Tarik Cool had 16 points while
Chier Maker had 12.
The Idaho State defense was once again solid, holding Montana Tech to 36 percent shooting from the field. Idaho State out rebounded the Orediggers 42-29.
Austin Smellie and
Chidi Udengwu each had seven.
The game was tied at 27 at halftime. Idaho State made 13-16 free throws in the second half and 21-30 for the game.
Idaho State opens regular season play on Nov. 5 at Wyoming. Tipoff is at 7 p.m. The Bengals then play at Air Force on Nov. 7. Idaho State's home opener is Nov. 14 at 7 p.m. vs. Montana Western. All games can be heard on 102.5 KMGI.
