Soccer Preview: Eastern Washington and Idaho

POCATELLO, Idaho-
The Idaho State soccer team will host their final home conference games this weekend vs. Eastern Washington (Oct. 11) at 4 p.m. (MST) and Idaho (Oct. 13) at 1 p.m. as a part of Homecoming weekend. Senior Day will be celebrated on Sunday's match vs. Idaho with ceremonies starting at 12:30.

Admission to this weekend's matches is $7 for adults, $5 for kids, and free for ISU students (per match). Tickets are available for purchase at the Holt Arena ticket office, over the telephone at (208)-282-FANZ and online. The pass list will be at the gate.

Eastern Washington
Eastern Washington has compiled a 4-5-2 overall record and is 1-0-1 in conference play with a draw against Northern Colorado (1-1) and Idaho (3-1). The Eagles average 1.36 goals per match with a .430 shot on goal percentage.

Idaho State holds a 12-10-1 record against Eastern. The Eagles have defeated the Bengals in the last four match-ups, 2018 (8-1), 2017 (4-2), 2016 (3-0), 2015 (3-2). ISU last defeated EWU in a 2-1 double overtime victory in 2014 on the road and a 2013, 1-0, home victory.

In the 2018 season, The Eagles finished with a winning record for the fourth-straight year and advanced to the Big Sky Conference Tournament for the fifth-straight year under Bodnar. Eastern ended 2018 with an overall record of 8-8-3 and picked up seven shutouts.

University of Idaho
Idaho has recorded a 3-9-1 overall record and is 0-2-1 in conference play falling to Montana (1-0) and Eastern Washington (3-1) and a draw against Northern Colorado (1-1, 2OT). With an average of 9.6 shots per game, the Vandals maintain a .480 shot on goal percentage.

Idaho State holds a 6-10-4 record against Idaho since 1998.  The last four match-ups were in favor of the Vandals, 2018 (1-0), 2017 (2-1), 2016 (3-1) and 2015 (2-1). The Bengals last victory over Idaho was at home in 2013 (2-0). In 2014, the two teams tied 2-2 in double overtime.
 
The Vandals finished the 2018 season with an overall record of 9-7-3 and finished Big Sky play at 6-1-2 earning the No. 2 seed in the Big Sky Tournament.
