POCATELLO, Idaho- The Idaho State volleyball team continues conference play this week as they host Sacramento State (Oct. 10) at 7 p.m. (MST) and Portland State (Oct. 12) at 7 p.m. (MST) in Reed Gym.
Admission to the match is $7 for adults, $5 for kids, and free for ISU students. Tickets can be purchased at the door or call 208-282-FANS for tickets and information. Sacramento State
Sac State has an overall 7-10 record and is 2-2 in Big Sky Conference play with victories over Eastern Washington (3-1) and Northern Arizona (3-2) and losses to Idaho (3-2) and Southern Utah (3-2). The Hornets average 12.1 kills per set for an attacking percentage of .258. Defensively, they average 15.5 digs per set and 2.1 blocks per set.Â
Since 1996, Idaho State holds a 15-33 record against Sac State and a 10-15 home record. In the 2018 season, the teams matched-up on three occasions with the Bengals winning two of the matches (3-1, 3-1) and the Hornets with one victory (3-0). From 2011 to 2015, ISU held an eight-match win streak over Sac. From 2015 to 2018, Sac recorded a six-match win streak over ISU.
During the 2018 season, Sac went 16-16 overall and 11-6 in conference. In 2017, the Hornets won the Big Sky Championship.
Portland State
Portland State has an overall 7-8 record and is 3-1 in BSC with victories over Eastern Washington (3-0), Northern Arizona (3-2), and Southern Utah (3-2) and a loss to Idaho (3-0). The Vikings average 10.9 kills per set and a .185 attacking percentage. Defensively, they average 16.6 digs per set and 2.3 blocks per set.Â
Since 1982, Idaho State holds a 24-35 record against PSU and is 12-13 at home. ISU defeated PSU in both their match-ups in 2018 (3-2, 3-0). From 2013 to 2015, ISU held a five-match win streak over Portland State. From 2016 to 2017, Portland held a four-match win streak over ISU.
During the 2018 season the Vikings compiled a 5-25 overall record and a 4-14 conference finish.
Keck Nears Big Sky Dig Record
Senior
Haylie Keck is 350 digs away from becoming the All-Time leader in the Big Sky Conference. She currently has 2,006 digs and Kristin Lutes (Sac State, 2003-06) holds the record with 2,355 digs.
