POCATELLO, Idaho- Idaho State volleyball is on the road for both of its matches this week against Portland State (Nov. 14) at 8 p.m. (MST) in Portland, Oregon and Sacramento State (Nov. 16) at 8 p.m. (MST) in Sacramento, Calif.

Scouting Portland State
Portland State holds a 9-16 overall record and is 5-9 in Big Sky conference play, sitting 8th in conference standings. The Bengals defeated PSU at home earlier this season, 3-2.
The Vikings average 11 kills per set, giving up 13.6 kills per set, while attacking for a .169 average. Defensively they record 17 digs and 2.2 blocks per set. Portland State is led by 13th-season Head Coach Michael Seeman who has compiled a 204-154 (.570) record and a 134-68 (.663) mark in Big Sky matches. During the 2018 season, the Vikings went 5-25 overall and 4-14 in conference playing landing a 10th place finish.
Since 1979, ISU holds a 25-36 record over PSU and is 10-18 in Portland.Â

Scouting Sacramento State
Sacramento State has an overall 13-14 record and sits fifth in the conference with a 8-6 conference record. ISU fell to Sac State, 3-2, earlier this season at home.
The Hornets average 12.4 kills per set and a .185 attacking percentage. Defensively, they average 15.7 digs per set and 2.1 blocks per set. The program is led by 12th-season Head Coach Ruben Volta. The Hornets went 16-16 overall and 11-6 in the Big Sky Conference during the 2018 season. The team made it to the quarterfinals in the Big Sky tournament before falling to ISU (3-1).
Since 1996, Idaho State holds a 15-33 record against Sac State and is 4-18 on the road.
