POCATELLO, Idaho- The Idaho State volleyball team fell in three sets to Sacramento State on Saturday night in Sacramento, Calif.
The Bengals fell in the first set, 25-23, after having a five point advantage at 17-12. ISU hit for a .353 average, gathering 12 kills and seven blocks.Â
In the second set Idaho State came back from a seven point deficit at 13-6 to finish in a close 25-21 loss. Idaho State attacked for a .324 average and added 11 kills to its stat line.
The third set went 25-17 in favor of the Hornets, giving them a 3-0 victory.Â
ISU finished with a .304 hitting percentage.
Raegan Steiner led the Bengals with a season-high .421 hitting percentage, a three-set high nine kills, and a season-high eight blocks.Â
Three Bengals hit double-digit digs including
Haylie Keck with 11 and Duquense Moratzka and
Mahala Bradburn with 10.
Brooke Pehrson recorded nine blocks.
"Sacramento won the serve-receieve battle tonight," said Assistant Coach
Robert Berrett. "When we can't run our offense, it becomes very difficult to compete. On the other end, when we can't get them out of system then they run an efficient offense."
Idaho State concludes conference play next week hosting Montana State (Nov. 21) at 7 p.m. and Montana (Nov. 23) at 7 p.m. (MST) in Reed Gym. Senior day will be celebrated during Saturday's match with ceremonies starting atÂ
